Massive OT Starts Practice; Talks Recruiting

John Sullen, two-star offensive tackle from Auburn, (Ala.), has received D1 offers from Duke, Memphis, Tulane and UAB. Sullen continues to attract interest from other programs as well. He talked about fall practice and the recruiting process.

"Everything has been good," said John Sullen. "Everyone is showing a lot of improvement. We finished two-a-days last week. I wanted to play defensive line this year, but our coach won't allow it."

"I have been focusing on practices and having a good season this year. With the loss of weight I feel like my footwork and speed has improved. I can get to the linebackers quicker. I am 6-foot-5, 314-pounds."

Sullen continues to receive strong interest, but he does not have any favorites.

"Southern Miss, Marshall, Duke, LSU, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Memphis and Ole Miss are all really the main schools staying in contact with me," he stated. "I am not ready to name any favorites just yet. I am still pretty open. I am going to wait until after the season to make a decision."

Sullen attended four camps, and one SEC trip stood out over the others.

"I went to both Auburn senior camps, Alabama camp and Mississippi State camp," he said. "The camp that stood out the most was Mississippi State. I was impressed with coach [J.B.] Grimes. He was a real good hands-on coach. He took his time to show everyone what they were doing wrong."

Auburn High School will travel to Valley for the first game of the season.
