Breaker Expects A Duke Offer Soon

Tim Breaker made the most of his summer, camping at four schools and keeping in touch with programs all over the country. He is still holding two written scholarship offers from Buffalo and Hofstra, but according to him a few other schools could be very close to joining them.

Tim Breaker camped at James Madison, Maryland, Virginia and Hofstra this summer and the 6-foot, 180-pound safety is also hearing a lot from Duke, Minnesota, Purdue and Toledo as well. He talked to us about the possibility of picking up more offers over the fall with another solid season.

"Camp at Maryland went very, very well," Breaker stated. "I got a tour of the campus afterwards and while we were doing that the coach said that I really did well during camp. I had a few interceptions there and did really well in the 1-on-1 drills. They told me that they are extremely close to offering me, but just want to come watch me in person one game this year. I like Maryland because they have a good tradition, offer solid academics and have a very nice campus. I also really get along well with the coaching staff."

"Virginia also went well," Breaker said. "They also gave me a tour and I liked the campus a lot. They had very nice facilities and the coaching staff treated me well. I had a few picks in camp and then ran a really, really fast short shuttle which impressed everyone."

"I think the school closest to offering me right now is Duke," Breaker explained. "They invited me down for camp this summer, but I had a school activity that I could not get out of, so we're setting up an official visit for me this fall. I know I'm going to have to get my SAT score up at least 100 points which won't be a problem at all."

As a junior, Breaker made 56 tackles and intercepted five passes. He had a total of nine touchdowns on offense as well.
