2010 OG Will Visit Duke Soon

George Washington High School gave it a valiant effort in the Pennsylvania playoffs this year only to lose to a tough Bethlehem Liberty squad this past weekend at Northeast High School. For Sharrif Floyd it was the end of his junior season, however on Monday, he did pick up his first two scholarship offers, making the end of his season a bit brighter.

Philadelphia, Pa., product Sharrif Floyd was officially offered by both Temple and Maryland on Monday when the respective coaching staffs stopped by George Washington High School for visits. The 6-foot-3.5, 280-pound offensive guard talked about each of those programs with us that night.

"Head Coach Al Golden from Temple came into the school today and handed my head coach a written offer for me," Floyd said. "I like Temple because they're on the way up right now and are also from Philly, so I have to give them love there. They have a lot of young, talented players right now and I think I'm going to make a visit very soon."

"A coach from Maryland also came in today to drop off an offer," Floyd offered. "I like them a lot because they really stress academics there and make sure that their players are doing well in that department. They have very high graduation rates and I know their business school is one of the best in the ACC. I want to take a visit down there to get a feel for the campus as soon as I can."

Floyd will also be taking unofficial visits to Penn State and Duke soon. He says he's getting the bulk of his mail from Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Miami, Boston College, Virginia, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Stanford
