Future Devils Find Success At Glaxxo

Mason Plumlee and Ryan Kelly wrapped up impressive weekends in the Triangle with a pair of strong performances.

On the final day of the 2009 Glaxxo event held in Raleigh, both Duke signees were back in action looking to take home hardware for their respective high school teams.

In the Summit Hospitality Group championship round it was Duke's Ryan Kelly leading Ravenscroft against Centennial High School. Despite a big effort from the future Blue Devil forward, Ravenscroft fell by 19. All told Kelly, who was named the event's Most Outstanding Player, finished with 26 points and nine rebounds on 9-of-17 shooting including 2-of-4 from the perimeter.

In the final of the Glaxxo division, it was once again a showcase for a future Blue Devils - possibly two - as commit Mason Plumlee logged 20 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks to help rally Arden (N.C.) Christ School to a 76-73 win.

For his efforts Plumlee took home Most Valuable Player honors while Duke recruit John Wall took home Most Outstanding Player hardware after lighting up the Christ School backcourt to the tune of 28 points.
