Devils Following Former Auburn Commit

B.J. Chitty, wide receiver from Northview High School in Dothan, Ala., originally gave a commitment to the Auburn Tigers. Chitty decided to re-open his recruitment after the departure of Tommy Tuberville. Chitty updated the latest news.

"I have offers from Auburn, Nebraska and Duke," said B.J. Chitty. "Alabama said they were going to offer, but I haven't received anything yet. I am getting a lot of interest from Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Michigan, Vanderbilt and West Virginia."

"I haven't been able to get to any Junior Days yet. I was supposed to go to Alabama's a few weeks ago, but I had a basketball game. I plan to attend a few, but not sure where right now."

Chitty brought up the Tide more than once as a possible visit, and a pending offer on the horizon.

"Alabama is a different place," he said. "I went there and found out that place was for real. I talk to coach [Kirby] Smart every now and then. They are very interested in me."

Chitty also remains interested in the Tigers.

"I still have a little bit of interest in Auburn," he said. "There really is interest in everyone right now. I have yet to talk to any of the new Auburn coaches, but I still like them."

The talented athlete is a star on the gridiron, hardwood and baseball diamond. He will skip baseball as a junior to focus on football and recruiting.

"The main thing I am really looking for in a school is academics," Chitty explained. "That is first and foremost. I want to check out the different teams and talk to coaches. I want to see where I would fit in the best."
