Lewis was 10-of-20 through the air for 109 yards including a 42-yard scoring strike to Donovan Varner. Renfree completed seven-of-nine throws for 39 yards. Running back Cameron Jones led all receivers with five catches for 31 yards while wideouts Sheldon Bell, Matt Pridemore and Preston Scott had two receptions apiece.
Patrick Kurunwune paced the Blue Devil ground attack with 23 yards on seven attempts including a one-yard touchdown plunge.
"We'll look at the tape," said Cutcliffe. "It's never as good as you think and never as bad as you think. We'll learn from it."
