Cutcliffe Announces Richmond Game Captains

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head coach David Cutcliffe announced Tuesday at his media luncheon that seniors Re'quan Boyette, Thaddeus Lewis, Vince Oghobaase and Vincent Rey have been selected captains for the Richmond game on Saturday.

Prior to last season, Boyette and Rey were each selected captains for the 2008 season by their teammates.

Boyette, a running back from Wilson, N.C., has played in 33 games with 10 starts and led Duke in rushing in 2006 and 2007. He is one of 11 active running backs in the ACC with over 1,000 yards rushing has he has 1,072 yards and five touchdowns in his career.

Rey, a linebacker from Far Rockaway, N.Y., has played in all 36 games the past three seasons, drawing starts in 23 contests. He is one of four active players nationally with over 100 tackles in each of the past two seasons. He led the team with 111 tackles in 2007 and had 109 last year.

Lewis, Duke's starting quarterback the past three seasons, is from Opa-Locka, Fla. He has started 34 of the 35 games he has played in and ranks in the top 10 in several passing categories at Duke. He has thrown for 6,735 yards and 47 touchdowns while also rushing for five scores in his career.

Oghobaase, a defensive tackle from Houston, Texas, has started in 36 consecutive games, the eighth longest streak in the nation among active players. He is second among active ACC players with 29 tackles for loss and third with 11.5 sacks in his career.
