Though the Blue Devils have yet to offer a scholarship, Beal says he understands the program's self-imposed procedures for taking that step and is on the same page.
"They usually do it in a face to face situation. If they are going to do it, it's probably going to be when I can get up there for a visit. I am trying to schedule one this fall, so hopefully it'll happen then. Coach is very big on doing things face to face. It's the same way he coaches Team USA."
In addition to Duke, Beal has a plethora of offers from schools such as Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue, and others.
Described by Scout.com's Eric Bossi as "a long armed and skilled wing scorer who can put the ball on the floor, gets to the rim, has an advanced mid range game and can bomb away from three", Beal is rated a a five star prospect and the nation's number two shooting guard in the class of 2011. He is considered the #10 overall player in the class in the recently released 2011 class rankings.
