GA LB Still Hoping For Duke Offer

Josh Gebhardt, linebacker prospect from Landmark Christian in Fairburn, Ga., continues to rack up huge numbers despite the fact teams are running away from his side of the field. He received his third offer this week from a Mid-American Conference school, and this program is now one of his leaders.

"I sent out my game film to Western Michigan the other day," Josh Gebhardt stated. "It was film from our first game of the year, against Brookstone (High School). They called my coach back within a few days of me sending it out, and they said that I have an offer from them (Western Michigan)."

"It's great that I'm getting more interest. I don't know much about the school (Western Michigan), but I'd like to get to know them."

The Southwest Metro Atlanta prospect currently has three leading schools.

"I like the schools that have offered (Air Force, Georgia State, Western Michigan). Those three are on top. Air Force and Georgia State have both sent me handwritten letters several times. I'm getting a of attention from them (Air Force and Georgia State)."

"Duke is still high on my list. I still get a lot of letters from them. Vandy is still in there. And Ole Miss is now one of my top schools."

The explosive prospect had a huge game last Friday. Opposing teams are running away from his side of the field, but he's taking full advantage of his opportunities.

"In my last game I had a sack on the first play of the game," he said. "I had five tackles for a loss. I blocked a punt and recovered it. I forced a fumble and recovered it."

Gebhardt has a general idea about his official visits.

"I haven't scheduled my officials yet," he said. "I know I'll go to Georgia State. I'll probably go to Air Force and Western Michigan.
