Junior DT Visited For Va. Tech Game

Virginia Beach, Va., product David Dean has already collected his first written scholarship offer from Louisville and is hearing from Duke as well as both in-state powers right now.

Green Run High School defensive tackle David Dean has been holding an offer from Louisville for a long time now, however the 6-foot-1, 267-pounder has not been able to visit them yet. He talked to Scout.com about his recruiting this week.

"Right now I have Louisville that has offered and Duke sounds like they're looking to offer too," Dean said. "I'd say that Duke, Virginia and Virginia Tech are recruiting me the hardest right now."

"I went to see Duke play Virginia Tech this year and it was good," Dean explained. "A coach had already been to one of my games and I talked to him at the Tech game. I like the campus a lot and the whole environment. The coaches were really cool there and they had solid fan support with a nice stadium, so there was a lot to like."

"I don't know a lot about Louisville and haven't visited yet, but I've watched them on TV and tried to learn a little bit about them. They offered me a while ago, so I'm going to try and get to Louisville soon. My mom has been talking about it with me."

Dean took his SAT in October and carries a 3.1 grade point average.
