Devils Land In-State TE/DE Prospect

Nick Sink (6'5, 235, DE/TE) has committed to the Blue Devils sources confirmed Thursday morning.

Though he's an all-state basketball performer for Forsyth Country Day, Nick Sink will be playing football in Durham next year. The 6'5, 235 pound prospect committed to Duke on Wednesday according to sources close to the situation.

Sink, a long time gridiron participant, played in just two games during his junior season thanks to a broken hand.

"That's one thing that held him back recuiting-wise," FCD head coach Mark Moroz told the Winston Salem Journal. "He didn't get on the recruiting radar until his senior year."

Such a lack of attention, meant Sink was an afterthought for many programs. However, in-state coaches began flocking to FCD this season in hopes of picking up a late gem in the recruiting game. Sink had heavy interest from North Carolina and Kentucky as well as mid-major interest on the hardwood.

At Duke he projects as a tight end. He's also shown the ability to play defensive end, and long-snapper. Despite already tipping the scales at 235 pounds, Moroz says his star prospect's frame will hold an additional 30 pounds should the Blue Devils want to take a look at him on the defensive line.
