Duke Reaches Out To Oak Hill Standout

On Friday the Blue Devil coaching staff got bad news as Harrison Barnes decided on North Carolina over Duke. In response there appears to have been movement with another top 35 prospect in the class of 2010.

According to a source the Blue Devils were in touch with Oak Hill Academy standout forward Roscoe Smith.

"Duke was in contact today with Roscoe," said the source. "They are in his final three, but no visits have been set up yet."

The 6-foot-7 Smith recently cut his list from five to a final group that includes Duke, Georgetown, and Connecticut. He has already visited Georgetown and Connecticut officially.

Over the summer the Blue Devils were quite visible at Smith's games - especially in Las Vegas where he suited up with the Baltimore Assault. There head coach Mike Krzyzewski was present at each game and TDD's Justin Young was able to catch up with Smith at that point to discuss his relationship with the Duke staff.

"I've talked to Coach K a couple of times. We talked about him working with Team U.S.A. and how he's enjoyed coaching those players. I've really enjoyed talking to him. It's been good getting to know him," Smith told TDD in Vegas. "I like everything about Duke. Coach K has told me about how I'd fit in with them and that I could be a missing piece of the puzzle."

Smith is rated as the nation's No. 6 small forward and the No. 32 overall prospect.
