Alex Hill Switches Commitment

Sources confirm that Slidell (La.) offensive lineman Alex Hill has de-committed from Duke.

Hill, who has not been evaluated by the team of recruiting experts, previously committed to Duke on January 15th. However, the 6'4, 315lbs prospect experienced a change of heart and committed to the Illini this afternoon.

A one time soft-verbal to New Mexico, Hill had offers from Duke, Southern Mississippi, Lousisiana Tech, and Illinois.

He's played guard and center, and even spent some time on the defensive line. Such versatility is thanks to a high level of athleticism that is reflected in the traditional measuring events.

Hill says he can bench 360-pounds, squat 500 and has a 24-inch vertical jump.

The loss of Hill returns Duke to 18 committed players in the class of 2010 - three of which have enrolled early.
