Duke Hosting Several Top Prospects

The Duke coaching staff will welcome a high number of talented juniors to campus on Saturday for their annual junior day event. TDD runs down the confirmed list of attendees.

The marquee names expected to suit up include the nation's No. 4 overall outside linebacker, Richmond (Va.) Hermitage High standout Curtis Grant. The 6-foot-3, 215 pounder is a four star prospect who sports offers from Duke, Miami, Virginia Tech, Virginia, and others. Similarly the Blue Devils will welcome four start running back Tevin Williams out of Trinity High School in Euless, Texas. Williams is a 5-foot-11, 175 pound four star running back with 4.5 speed in the forty.

Duke will also welcome a highly rated safety prospect in the form of Greenville (S.C.) standout Pat Martin. Martin, a 5'11, 200 pound prospect, has offers from UCLA, Minnesota, Maryland, and Duke in the early going.

With Duke needing help along the defensive line in the class of 2011, a number of defensive linemen are expected to be in camp this weekend. Recently offered defensive end prospect Desmond Floyd out of Union County (S.C.) will be in, as will Delaware three star defensive tackle Trip Thurman (6'5, 295, 5.2 forty). Maryland defensive end prospect Jonathan Woodruff (6'2, 200, 4.8) is another name confirmed as is in-state defensive tackle prospect, Monte Golden (6'1, 290) out of Northside High in Jacksonville.

With a continued commitment to recruiting in-state, the Blue Devils will welcome a number of top prospects from the Old North State.

In addition to Golden, Duke will host 5-foot-11 Raleigh wide receiver Isaiah Johnson (5'11, 180, 4.6) and Durham prospects Vad Lee (6'1, 200, 4.5) - a three star wide receiver as well as Jordan High's T.J. Thorpe (5'11, 160, 4.6).

High wideout Brandon Phelps (6'0, 175, 4.5); and Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake High outside linebacker Chris Tavarez (5'11, 185).
