"I have a verbal from Michigan State, Duke and West Virginia, but it's not official until I visit the school," he reported. "They are all speaking highly of offering me, but they're good colleges and they can't just say 'we're going to offer you' because I haven't seen them or the school, but they said it verbally."
Brown says he keeps in contact with the schools by phone and e-mail. Michigan State is the only one of the three that has bee into the school.
"Michigan State said basically they really need to see me again and get to know where I'm coming from. They want to feel me out as a football player versus just seeing me on film and get to know me as a human being."
Brown has not scheduled any visits to these schools yet, but he has been to junior days at Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Akron and Ohio State. The Buckeyes are one school he makes no secret of his interest in.
"I'm really hoping they offer me," he admitted. "Basically, I've talked to Coach Bollman every week. We've built a personal relationship. It's pretty cool talking to him every week. It's been nice."
As for Cincinnati, Brown did not get much of a chance to talk to the Bearcat staff, but he anticipates that will change on future visits.
"They didn't get to sit down and talk to me one on one. It was junior day, so a bunch of people were there, but I'll be talking to them soon either at another junior day or when I go there again."
