McDonald's Game Day Two Rundown

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Day two of practices is in the books. Perry Jones and C.J. Leslie were the main attractions, as the East team began full court scrimmaging for majority of the practice. Check out the full report including thoughts on Duke's Kyrie Irving.

-Word of God standout C.J. Leslie was terrific during the second day of practice. Just like yesterday, Leslie played extremely hard, but today he was finishing everything, blocked shots on the defensive end and was as aggressive as we've seen him.

-From a pure athleticism standpoint it's hard to top Leslie, but Perry Jones is close. The 6-foot-10 big man is wowing on-lookers with his size, hops, mobility and ability to defend the post.

-Now Jones has added an impressive mid-range game. He hit nearly a dozen 15 to 18-foot jump shots in the practice and looked confident and comfortable shooting the basketball. That's a big time addition to his arsenal.

-Leslie and Jones were playing during the same rotation during the East's scrimmage. Athletically that's a monster frontcourt. Both of these guys are in the midst of big weeks and are showing vast improvements.

-There was a battle of New Yorkers during the East's practice. Tobias Harris and JayVaughn Pinkston went toe-to-toe and it was Harris that got the best of Pinkston from out view.

-Harris was especially impressive pushing the break off of defensive rebounds. He also was burying three-pointers, finished on the break and showed a unique ability to maneuver in the paint.

-Josh Selby is having a solid week of practices. An athletic guard that can do a variety of things, Selby got out in transition as much as possible and is an impressive finisher at the rim. Overall he's among the top scorers in attendance.

-Duke commit Kyrie Irving wasn't quite as good as he was yesterday, but what we did notice was how well he uses ball screens. He came off a few today looking to shoot jumpers and he seemed to draw all net when we were watching.

-DeShaun Thomas picked his spots on Monday. The 6-foot-7 combo forward knocked a few spot-up jumpers, but also spent some snagging offensive rebounds and securing put backs.

-Reggie Bullock had the jumper tuned up today. After struggling to find the bottom of the net yesterday, Bullock was draining deep three-pointers, as well as one-dribble pull-ups from 18-feet.

-The East's team appears to be starting a pair of Buckeye signees – Jared Sullinger and DeShaun Thomas. Kyrie Irving, Reggie Bullock and Tobias Harris also appeared to be on the starting five.

-While the East team did a considerable amount of scrimmaging on Monday, the West team did not. The spent a lot of time working on their offense, putting in plays and doing drills.

-The three-point and dunk contests are tonight at the Value City Arena on Ohio State's campus. The event begins at 6:30 and will be broadcasted on ESPN2.
