Recruiting Board: Quarterbacks

TDD's recruiting board tracks the prospects and offers at the quarterback position for Duke in 2011

Current Quarterback Depth
Sean Renfree - Sophomore
Sean Schroeder - RS Freshman
Brandon Connette - Freshman
Anthony Boone - Freshman

Class Strategy
The Blue Devils already have four signal callers on the roster for the 2010 season - with only one having fewer than four seasons of eligibility remaining. Because of this, Duke will look to sign, at most, one quarterback in the class.

Confirmed Quarterback Offers
Marquise Williams | Charlotte (NC) Mallard Creek
Ht/Wt: 6-3/215 | | | Pos: QB | Pos Rank: 16
Duke Interest: Low
Duke Trips: N/A
Recruiting: Favors UNC, LSU, and Va Tech (4/6/10)
Scouting Report: Marquise Williams finished his junior season with 2,400 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing for a total of 40 touchdowns. He says he can bench 280-pounds, squat 410 and claims a 38-inch vertical jump. Williams plans on majoring in sports broadcasting and reports a 3.0 core GPA

Jerrard Randall | Hollywood (FL) Chaminade-Madonna College Prep
Ht/Wt: 6-2/185 | | | Pos: QB | Pos Rank: 14
Duke Interest: Low
Duke Trips: N/A
Recruiting: Has named Florida and Oregon as his two leaders (3/6/10)
Scouting Report: Randall is a very athletic quarterback, but he brings more to the game other than his mobility. He can create with his legs and give plays longer to develop, but he has a very strong arm and can make the throws it takes to be a threat in the pocket. He does need to improve his release and his accuracy. He is a hot and cold passer right now, so just becoming more consistent all the way around will make him a better quarterback. - Chad Simmons
