Irving (Texas) Nimitz High athlete J.J. Gaines has been making the most out of this years spring evaluation period. The 5-foot-10, 178-pound playmaker has impressed college coaching staffs across the country and has pulled in multiple offers this spring.

His latest two offers hail from the ACC and the Big Ten.

"I just got offers from Duke and Illinois this week," said Gaines.

This brings his total number of offers to six. Tulsa, Baylor, Rice and Texas Tech all previously offered.

Gaines is excited about his two latest offers and had good things to say about both schools.

Duke- "I like the fact that they are known for playing young players and they have recently had a couple of freshman All-Americans."

Illinois- "Coach (Zook) sounded like he had been around a lot of winning and he really knows what he's talking about.

Despite having several options, Gaines claims that he still has no favorites.

"The process is getting more exciting. All schools remain the same. I'm going to research more about all of the schools.

Gaines plans to wait until the end of his senior season before making a final decision.
