Texas Lineman High On Duke

Last week the Blue Devil coaching staff made a number of stops all over the country. One such visit was made to Leander (Tex.) Cedar Park High standout offensive lineman Matt Wofford.

"Duke came by my school and we had a really good visit with my head coach," said Cedar Park High offensive tackle Matt Wofford. "I am looking to visit Duke in June at this time. The first Saturday of the month."

So far the 6-foot-7, 305 pound lineman reports offers from Rice, SMU, Arkansas, Duke and Houston. Each school has received a visit aside from the Blue Devils. Of that early top five list, Wofford says Duke and Rice are his two favorites.

"[Duke] has a very impressive coaching staff. They realize that I want a great education, and they appreciate that. Both sides believe I would be a good fit in the Duke program."

While Wofford likes Duke for the academics and for the chance to play against top level opponents in the ACC, the Blue Devils apparently like what the big Texan can bring to the program on and off the field.

"They like how I am an aggressive player and they believe I can really help them in the running game. If I had to sum up their pitch it's that I can come in and get the kind of education I'm looking for, but also have a lot of fun playing high level football."

"Overall my top priorities are to find the best education I can and to be able to connect to the coaching staff. That's the key for me."

Measuring out at 6-foot-7 and 305 pounds, Wofford says his strongest attributes are his willingness to hit and hit hard.

"I am a really hard hitter and I'm a guy who can run over a defensive lineman in the running game. That's my passion."
