At 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds Carter has good size and speed (4.7) for the outside linebacker position. He's also got the academic makeup that has a number of schools interested.s So far he's got interest from Duke, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Cincinnati, Princeton, Dartmouth, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Brown, and Columbia.
However it's the Blue Devil staff that's keeping in touch with him the most it would appear.
"My recruiting coach, Coach Derek Jones, and I speak all the time. My interest in Duke was through the roof before I visited this summer and has only gotten stronger since. The coaching staff, the academics, and the overall competition have all played a part in that. I've also talked with Coach Collins a bit."
To this point Duke has yet to offer Carter a scholarship, but he feels that with a good start to his senior campaign that could change. When asked for a top five list he says the Blue Devils are the clear frontrunner followed by Vanderbilt, Illinois, and Stanford.
"Duke is very high. The pros are that it's close to home and the education is second to none. The level of competition is top of the line and the coaching staff is great in that they will challenge you but they also create a family atmosphere. The whole place is very welcoming I was really impressed by it all from the campus to the weight room and facilities."
