Game Time

Duquesne, in the midst of a six-game losing streak, returns home to Pittsburgh to host Richmond this afternoon at 4:00 pm ... the Dukes are 7-15 overall, 2-7 in Atlantic 10 Conference play while the Spiders are 10-14 and 4-5 in the A-10 loop ... last season, Richmond defeated DU 72-53 ... In the A-10 standings, Richmond is tied for sixth and Duquesne is tied for 12th.

The Coaches

Duquesne's Dan Durkin is in his 14th season at the helm of the Duquesne women's basketball program and as a head coach. He posts a 176-212 career mark. Durkin is a 1975 graduate of Mount St. Mary's.

Richmond's Michael Shafer is in his 2nd year as coach of the Spiders and as a collegiate head coach. He owns a 23-31 career record with Richmond. Shafer is a 1994 graduate of William & Mary.

The Series

Sunday afternoon, Duquesne and Richmond will play for the 10th time. The Spiders lead the all-time series 8-1 which began Feb. 1, 2002. Richmond has won the last seven contests. The Red & Blue's lone win against the Spiders was on Valentine's Day 2002, an 89-78 victory at Palumbo.

Duquesne fell to 7-15 overall after their 76-46 loss at George Washington Thursday ... Duquesne has seen its roster cut short due to injury / illness ... three players are currently on the sidelined list in Brittany Warren, Samantha Pollino and Keri Pryor ... the Dukes stand 4-6 at home this season ... the Dukes next game is Feb. 16 at UMass.
