Dukes Holds Spot After Bye Week

Duquesne, which didn't play this weekend, held onto eighth place in The Sports Network's Football Championship Subdivision (formerly D-II) mid-major Top 10 poll released Tuesday. The Dukes return to action on Saturday, September 14, 2007, at Brown on the Ivy League school's campus in Providence, R.I.

The big change in the poll is Drake's taking over first place from San Diego by one point (161/160). While both teams received eight first-place votes, the difference was Drake getting one more second place vote than San Diego.

Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Iona, which swept the MAAC awards for the second week in a row, moved into the top ten at number nine. The Gaels, who received 14 votes last week, grabbed a 17-14 overtime win over Wagner.

Davidson of the Pioneer Football League dropped out from sixth place as a result of their 33-30 road loss to Division II Wingate.
