Atlantic 10 Honors Duquesne Trio

Duquesne cross country runners Josh Eddy and Hannah Ringo and volleyball outside hitter Tricia Mullen have been honored by the Atlantic 10 Conference for their performances this past weekend.

Freshman Tricia Mullen (Botkins, Ohio / Botkins Local School) helped Duquesne's volleyball team to a perfect 4-0 mark in the season opening Duquesne / Robert Morris Invitational.

Mullen, who was named to the all-tournament team, posted a team-high 50 digs to go along with 30 kills, nine aces and three assists. She is fifth in the league with 0.64 aces per game and seventh with 3.57 digs per contest.

The Dukes head to Catonsville, Md. for the this weekend's three-game UMBC volleyball tournament. Duquesne will face Niagara at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the RAC Center. On Saturday, it Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) at 10:00 a. m. and host University of Maryland, Baltimore County at 5:00 p.m. Saturday.

Mullen shares A-10 rookie of the week honors with George Washington's Alyssa Valentine.

Senior Josh Eddy (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Hills HS) and freshman Hannah Ringo (Solon, Ohio / Solon HS) helped Duquesne's cross country teams to a perfect 15-0 mark at Saturday's season-opening Duquesne Duals in Schenley Park.

Eddy won the men's individual crown with a time of 25:45 on the 103-runner five-mile Schenley Oval course. Ringo gained the A-10 Rookie of the Week award as she finished third in a field of 87 runners with time of 18:46 on the ladies' 5K course.

The Dukes next competition is the National Catholic Championships at the Univerity of Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 19th.
