Duquesne And Pitt Play to Scoreless Tie

Duquesne University's men's soccer team remains undefeated in the 2008 season following Thursday night's 0-0 scoreless tie with Pittsburgh at Rooney Field.

Sophomore goalie Chris Torres recorded five saves for the 1-0-2 Dukes, lowering his Atlantic 10 Conference leading goals against average to 0.29. He has two shutouts in three games.

Classmate Stefan Lundberg, the MVP of last weekend's West Virginia Classic, had a game-best five shots in the double overtime game. Duquesne outshot the Panthers, 17-13. Eric Barnes was credited with nine saves.

UP is now 1-1-1.

DU, ranked sixth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCCA) Mid-Atlantic Region, next takes on Saint Francis University of Loretto, Pa., on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. on Rooney Field. The Red Flash are 0-2-0 this season.
