Duquesne Wins National Invitational

Duquesne University's men's cross country team won the National Catholic Championship at the University of Notre Dame Friday afternoon in the 33-team competition. The women's team was fifth of 35 schools.

The Dukes placed four runners in the top 11 led by Josh Eddy's third place finish with a time of 25:00. Teammate Derek Dutille finished three seconds back in fourth place. Scott VonKotten was 10th (25:27) and Mike Stolar 11th (25:32).

Host Notre Dame was second. Four other Atlantic 10 Conference teams also competed: Xavier was fourth, Dayton fifth, Saint Louis 14th, St. Bonaventure 27th.

Duquesne's women's team came in fifth of 35 teams, led by Hannah Ringo's 14th place result of 18:34. Sara Cimino's 18:44 was good for 19th.

Notre Dame won this competition. Dayton was second, Xavier third and Saint Louis fourth. The Bonnies finished in 32nd place.
