Little Named to A-10 First & Defensive Teams

PITTSBURGH - Senior guard Kristi Little (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was named to the 2008-09 Atlantic 10 Conference Preseason All-Conference First-Team and Defensive Team released today as part of the A-10 media day. The Dukes, led by second-year coach Suzie McConnell-Serio, were picked eighth in the 14-team conference.

Kristi Little, the 2007-08 A-10 Defensive Player of the Year, finished last season leading the conference in steals (3.3 spg) and was the league's fourth leading scorer (16.3 ppg). In addition to being DU's first-ever defensive player of the year, Little was also named A-10 Third Team and All-Defensive Team. The 5-4 guard started and scored in double-digits in all 30 games last season and improved her scoring from 2007 by 7.6 points.

The Dukes will host a pair of exhibition games - Nov. 1 versus Team Essence and Nov. 8 versus Clarion - before opening the regular season at the Palumbo Center against Morehead State on Nov. 14 at 6:00 p.m.
