The Dukes and the Explorers each finished with 17 points in A-10 Conference play, but DU advanced by virtue of the tie-breaking procedure.
The Dukes (7-6-4/5-4-2) will face number three seed Fordham (11-5-2/8-2-1) Thur. Nov. 6 at 7:00pm (ET). Annie Reid scored the lone goal and Gabby Morrin made a career-high 11 saves as DU defeated the Rams in Bronx, N.Y. earlier this season.
"It is an honor to advance to the championship two years in a row," said head coach Tim Zundel. "The team looks forward to the challenges ahead and wants to advance to the semifinal round."
This is the third appearance in the last four seasons for Duquesne. In 2005, Charlotte's goal just 48 seconds into overtime gave the 49ers a 2-1 victory and last season, Richmond got by the Dukes 2-0.
