"Dukes Buck Night" Returns for Pitt

The Duquesne women's basketball hosts Pittsburgh in the annual City Game at the Palumbo Center Wednesday night for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff. All fans can receive $1.00 tickets, $1.00 Hot Dogs and $1.00 soft drinks, compliments of the Smallman Street Deli.

DUKES AND PANTHERS

Duquesne and Pittsburgh have met 26 times since the series began on Dec. 6, 1974. The Panthers hold an 18-8 advantage and have won the past three matchups.

DUQUESNE LATELY

Coming off their first defeat of the season, 59-56 at Towson. Kristi Little recorded a game-best 18 points for the Dukes.

PITTSBURGH LATELY

Winners of four straight, including their Thanksgiving Tournament Nov. 28-29. Defeated Youngstown State 99-42, which was their largest margin of victory since 1977.

AGAINST THE BIG EAST CONFERENCE

The Dukes have had a tough time against Big East schools since the formation of the conference in 1982-83, going 9-28. Duquesne's first game against a Big East school was Feb. 1, 1984 at Fitzgerald Fieldhouse versus Pittsburgh. Since then, DU has gone 0-1 against Cincinnati, 0-1 against Connecticut, 8-16 against Pittsburgh since they joined in 1982-83, 0-2 against Syracuse and 1-8 against West Virginia since they joined in 1995-96.
