Hall of Fame Weekend at Rose Hill

Bronx, N.Y. - Rose Hill will be buzzing with athletic action this weekend as Fordham prepares to induct eight new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Sunday in the McGinley Center Ballroom.

The action will start on Saturday afternoon as both the women's basketball and the men's and women's swimming and diving squads host a home event. The women's basketball team will entertain La Salle in an Atlantic 10 matchup in the Rose Hill Gym at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday while swimming will also host La Salle in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatics Center at 1:00 p.m.

On Sunday, Hall of Fame day starts with a special mass in the University Church at 9:30 a.m. with the awards ceremony brunch beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the McGinley Center Ballroom.

Eight new members will join the likes of Vince Lombardi, Frankie Frisch and Wellington Mara in the Fordham Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2009 class includes:

Charlie Gulotta '68 - Water Polo and Swimming
Daniel Iannuzzi '81 - Swimming and Water Polo
Andy Nacrelli '55 - Football
Greg McClure '01 - Rowing
Joe Pantginis '91 - Track & Field
Amanda Vogel '99 - Rowing

The men's basketball team then faces Duquesne University in an Atlantic 10 contest in the Rose Hill Gym at 1:00 p.m. in a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network. The new Hall of Famers will be introduced to the crowd at halftime.

Tickets for the men's and women's basketball games are available at the door. There is no charge for the men's and women's swim meet with La Salle.
