A 69-61 winner over Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks' Brittany Ford was named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week.

DUQUESNE AND SAINT JOSEPH'S ALL-TIME

Tonight marks the 39th all-time meeting between Duquesne and Saint Joseph's. The Dukes and Hawks began their series Feb. 25, 1984. SJU won the first 20 games of the series (2/24/84 - 2/12/94). Last season, the Hawks held off the Dukes at the Alumni Fieldhouse 59-56. All of Duquesne's four wins have come at the Palumbo Center.

BACK ON THE BLUFF

Assistant coaches Dan Burt and Blaine Patterson return to Duquesne for their second season on the women's basketball staff. Burt brings 10 years of Division I experience to the Dukes' bench. He came to Duquesne from Bucknell where he was an assistant for three seasons (2004-07). He was also an assistant for three seasons at both West Virginia (1998-2001) and UNC Wilmington (2001-04). Patterson, known for his extensive knowledge of video editing and game preparation, spent three seasons at Illinois prior to coming to Duquesne. While at Illinois, he served as assistant to the head coach in 2004-05 and as an assistant coach under Theresa Grentz in 2005-06 and 2006- 07. Director of Basketball Operations Katie Kestler also returns to the staff this season.

I REMEMBER YOU

New to the staff this season is assistant coach Carmen Bruce. The former standout guard played two seasons for the Red and Blue and finished her career with 290 assists, which is currently ninth all-time in DU history. Last season, Bruce served as a graduate student in the Duquesne athletics marketing department.
