Aaron Jackson A-10 Player of Week

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne senior Aaron Jackson (Hartford, Conn./Worcester (Mass.) Academy) has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the third time this season for his performance in DU's two games last week.

The 6-4 guard shot .515 from the field while averaging 25.0 points 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists as DU split games at Saint Louis and vs. Xavier. Jackson scored 29 points - including a game-tying jumper at the end of regulation - in a 78-74 overtime loss at Saint Louis and followed that with a game-high 21 points in leading the Dukes to a 72-68 win over No. 9 (AP) Xavier. Jackson hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final 31 seconds as Duquesne posted its first win over a ranked team since 1997.

This is the third time this season, and fifth time his career, that Jackson has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week. Bruce Atkins (six times from 1979-82) is the only Duquesne player who has earned the award more than Jackson since DU began league play in 1976-77.

Duquesne (15-7, 6-3) - off to its best overall and conference start since 1980-81 - returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Richmond. Tip time is 7:00 p.m.
