Jimmy Baron & B.J. Raymond Named All-P.I.T.

Two of the six Atlantic 10 Conference seniors invited to this week's Portmouth Invitational Tournament pre-NBA draft event, URI's Jimmy Baron and XU's B.J. Raymond, were named to the 2009 All Tournament Team.

All-Tournament Team

Rhode Island's Jimmy Baron set two tournament records. In the finals of the consolation bracket (Game 10), Baron set the single game three point record by knocking down nine 3 pointers. The previous record was six by Tony Bobbitt (Cincinnati - 1994).

Baron also broke the tournament record for total three pointers made with 16. The previous record had been 13 by Tony Bobbitt (Cincinnati - 1994) and Askia Jones (Kansas State - 1994).

B.J. Raymond of Xavier was a member of P.I.T. champions, the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Raymond averaged 13.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.33 assists and 1.67 steals while shooting 53.3 percent from beyond the arc, 44.1% overall.

DeMarre Carroll of Missouri, a teammate of Duquesne's Aaron Jackson on the third place Portsmouth Partnership, was named the tournament M.V.P.
