Diamond Dukes Fall to Richmond, 5-4

GREEN TREE -- Duquesne's baseball team fell to 3-10 in Atlantic 10 play with a 5-4 loss to Richmond Saturday afternoon at Pitt Field. Anthony Manley and Mile Carroll led the Dukes with two hits each while Carroll launched his second home run of the season.

The Dukes fell behind 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning before slowly creeping to a 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth. However, Richmond scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth to break the Dukes' spirits.

Gary Pierpont pitched the first seven innings, allowing just three runs on five hits while striking out five for a no decision. Four different Dukes scored runs and three different Dukes drive in runs.

The third and final game of the series will be played Sunday at noon.
