Which coach contacted you with your offer? How did he describe ECU?
"(Offensive Line) Coach Brandon Jones, he actually offered me in 10th grade," Lloyd said. "He described it very well and told me a lot about coach Ruffin McNeill and the team; he said everyone around there is nice and made it sound like a great school to go to."
What did you know about ECU before you received your offer?
"Not much, I had a guy from my school go there a few years before, Devon Wallace," Lloyd said. "I remember seeing him playing on TV, but other than that I really didn't know much about ECU."
Have you had a chance to visit yet?
"I still have yet to get down there for my visit, but I'm anxious to do so; I'm working on figuring out an exact date right now, it should be soon."
How did your season end up this year at Southern Alamance?
"We missed the playoffs, which was a goal of ours," Lloyd said. "We played well towards the end of the season, so we'll try to build on that with hopes of achieving that goal next year."
What is your plan for the off-season? Any combines?
"I'm going to continue working out and will be playing baseball here at Southern Alamance; I'm trying to elevate my game in both sports. As far as combines, I'm going to the rivals Under Armour combine in April."
Anything you will be working on in particular?
"I'm just trying to work on becoming a complete player, I want to excel in every facet of the game and I know it's going to going to take hard work."
Describe your interest in ECU?
"Right now it's very high because I've heard so many great things," Lloyd said. "I haven't been there yet, so I'll know more after I go on my visit and see what it's all about."
When do you see yourself signing?
"I'm not really sure. It's such a big decision that I am going to have to take my time and come up with the answer to that; I want to take my time to make sure I pick the right school for me."
Johnathan Lloyd is one of the most sought after recruits in the state of North Carolina. His offers include: Clemson, Duke, Florida, Indiana, UNC, NC State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, West Virginia and now ECU. Lloyd is a dual-threat quarterback; he finished his junior season throwing for 1,448 yards and 14 touchdowns, while also running for 1,215 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground. Lloyd also managed to get an interception on defense. It's easy to see why college coaches are after Lloyd, he would be a great catch for ECU.
