The 6-foot-2, 190-pound wideout received an offer from ECU in May and other big schools are following suite.
"I'm getting a lot of letters now and hearing it on Twitter and Facebook," Philpott said. "My offers are from ECU, Indiana, Wake Forest, and Southern Mississippi. The people that I've heard from most recently are Cal(ifornia), Northwestern, Arkansas, Penn State, Florida State, and South Florida."
As far as ECU, Philpott mentioned he doesn't know much about the school. He is interested in looking into what the Pirates are about.
"Being from Florida I don't know a lot about (ECU) except that they have a really cool logo in the middle of the field," he said. "I'm planning on visiting, but I'm just not sure about when."
ECU defeated UNC Chapel Hill two weeks ago, ending 38-year winning drought against the Tar Heels. It was the biggest win of head coach Ruffin McNeill's tenure and is starting to pay off in the recruiting game.
Philpott saw the game and was impressed with the Pirates.
"(It improved my interest) a little bit," Philpott said. "It shows that as a whole the team seems to do well against "bigger" schools."
Philpott believes it's too early on to pick a favorite school and with the talent he has the offers could start pouring in soon. His plan for after his junior season is to get on the visit trail and see the schools interested in him.
The junior wide receiver had a breakout performance against Jacksonville (Fla.) Providence High School this season. Philpott had four catches all of which went for touchdowns while compiling 203 yards receiving yards with touchdowns of 40, 80, 44 and 39-yards respectively.
