Tillman Commits

Miller Grove (Ga.) linebacker Ray Tillman becomes ECU's latest commitment as signing day rapidly approaches. He pledged to the Pirates Sunday afternoon.

Miller Grove (Ga.) outside linebacker Ray Tillman has committed to East Carolina in conjunction with his official visit this weekend. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Lithonia, Ga. native is a two-star linebacker and the Pirates' 21st pledge of the 2014 recruiting class.

He also becomes the school's fourth linebacker of the class, joining Ponte Vedra's (Fla.) Joe Carter, Ocean Lakes' (Va.) Massadiq Walton and Kempsville's (Va.) Kyron Speller, and ECU's ninth defensive player.

Tillman was among the handful of prospects that visited ECU on the final weekend prior to Wednesday's National Signing Day. Pirates' outside linebackers coach Duane Price was responsible for the bulk of Tillman's recruitment. Associate coach John Wiley played a role as well.

He has been highly decorated during his career at Miller Grove. Most recently, he was named Georgia's 6-AAAAA all-region defensive player of the year.

Tillman also holds offers from several other teams, including Marshall, Appalachian State and Georgia.
