Black Prepares for ECU Visit

2015 Terry Sanford (Fayetteville, N.C.) defensive end Paris Black has an ECU offer and plans to visit this weekend. Inside ECU Sports spoke with him about it.

Paris Black is an impressive athlete at any level. After an MCL sprain slowed his junior season a bit, the talented defensive end returned strong.

Even though he missed six games, his limited participation was still enough to land him Division I offers.

"I first got an offer from Wake Forest," said the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Black. "Shortly after that I got my offer from ECU. I have UNC Chapel Hill looking at me heavy, N.C. State too."

Special teams coordinator Kirk Doll and defensive end Marc Yellock have both recruited Black. He mentioned he hears from the ECU coaches once or twice a week. The two parties have planned a visit for this Saturday, Black will get a chance to expand his knowledge of what ECU has to offer.

"I've visited Wake two weeks ago and I'm visiting ECU this Saturday, "Black said. "I'm going to view campus a little more and learn the culture of the football team."

Black is currently running track to add more speed to his game. He mentioned his strength is power rushing and that he idolizes defensive ends Jadeveon Clowney and DeMarcus Ware.

Once track season concludes Black will take on his last summer of recruitment. He will hit the spring camp circuit starting this weekend.

"I'm going to the Rivals Under Armour Combine this Sunday," said Black. "I just ended my basketball season, so know I'll be doing some out of school lifting and work with my teammates."

It's still early in the game, but a successful visit Saturday could improve Black's interested in ECU tremendously.
