Pirates Visit 2015 DB

2015 Blythewood (S.C.) defensive back Dominique Lemon has picked up six offers and ECU visited with him recently. Inside ECU Sports spoke with him about the Pirates.

To say Dominique Lemon's recruitment is picking up a bit would be an understatement. The talented defensive back from Blythewood High School in South Carolina is beginning to see his hard work pay off and now has six offers to his name.

The most recent school to offer Lemon was Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers join the mix with schools Charleston Southern, Elon, Tennessee State, Furman and James Madison.

As for what schools could be next to offer, Lemon believes it could be Old Dominion and Georgia Southern. Both coaching staffs have liked what they've seen on film, but would like to see Lemon in-person.

ECU has been hitting the recruiting trail of late and paid a visit to Lemon this week.

"(Recruiting Coordinator) Donnie Kirkpatrick came to my school," said the 5-foot-10, 175-pound Lemon. "It meant a lot for him to come see me, I grew up watching ECU. He told me I was starting the recruitment process with (ECU) and that he wanted me to come to campus soon."

Lemon mentioned he isn't too familiar with campus, but has heard a lot of things about it. He also went on to say that Kirkpatrick would like him to either come to camp during summer or visit for a game day experience in the fall.

As of right now Lemon is excited that the Pirates are opening communication with him, he will look forward to looking more into what the school has to offer.

For the summer Lemon has his sights set on visiting some big-time programs.

"This summer I'm going to go to Georgia, Florida and Clemson," said Lemon. "They have all told me they want to see me in-person.

Lemon is a physical defensive back with tremendous upside heading into his senior season. He mentioned his weakness on the field right now is patience. His preparation is so good that if he lets the game come to him there's no telling how good he could be.
