In Miller's eyes his first "big school offer" came in ten days ago.
"ECU just offered me (May 2, 2014)," said the 6-foot, 171-pound Miller. "I got an offer from UNC-Charlotte right after football season. Carolina, N.C. State and Clemson have all shown interest.
Even though he produced at each position he played in his past three seasons, Miller is being recruited by each school to play defensive back.
As more schools start to reach out to Miller he will be spending more time getting a feel for each. This summer will be a busy one for him as he has multiple visits in mind. ECU is one of the schools that will host him for a camp.
"I am for sure going to ECU camp," said Miller. "I'm going to Carolina, Clemson, Wake Forest and I'm going to try to make it to Florida."
So far, and like other schools, ECU has expressed interest in recruiting Miller at the defensive back position. The Pirate coaching staff asked him about his attributes including his 40-yard dash time and vertical jump. He will put his skills on show at "The Opening" Nike Football Showcase in July.
An area of focus for Miller this offseason will be improving his play at the cornerback position by practicing fundamentals like back-peddling. While he does like wide receiver and quarterback, Miller also likes playing on both sides of the ball. Multiple coaches have asked him to come to camp in order to see him in-person.
Miller has taken an early jump on his workout regime for summer 2014. This talented recruit is working to gain more strength and to improve on his route running.
Right now Miller mentioned he is looking forward to learning more about what ECU has to offer.
