Offensive lineman Darius Anderson from Mundy's Mill High School in Jonesboro, Ga. is seeing his recruitment take off after an impressive junior season.
Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Florida International, James Madison, Samford, ECU, Mercer, Kennesaw State, Old Dominion, UNC Charlotte, Southern Mississippi and South Alabama make up Anderson's offer list and more schools could reach out to him soon.
After attending one of his spring practices, ECU offensive line coach Brandon Jones offered Anderson.
"I'm blessed to receive an offer from ECU," said the 6-foot-3, 330-pound Anderson. "ECU is one of my top schools I am looking into before I commit."
Anderson went on to say his relationship with his recruiters, Brandon Jones and outside linebackers coach Duane Price, has been a growing one. In order to build on his knowledge of the school and the program Anderson will be visiting ECU on June 20. It will be his first time on campus and he couldn't be more excited.
Throughout high school Anderson played offensive tackle. When he gets to the next level that will likely change.
"I play right tackle but ECU and other schools want me to move to guard at the college level," said Anderson. "My footwork is my strength and I should be able to play offensive guard just fine."
Summer just started for Anderson and he plans on using it to its full potential. As far as visits go, he has already been out to see Mercer, Middle Tennessee State and Kennesaw State. Anderson will also try to visit Southern Miss and Old Dominion before the summer is over.
Anderson will be in the gym working hard all summer to improve his game. The attributes he would like to improve on most are his strength and speed – especially his speed after contact.
