For the second straight recruiting cycle, Wisconsin has aggressively recruited the state of Virginia and one of their top targets from the state is Ashburn Broad Run senior cornerback Chuck Davis. After landing an offer from Wisconsin back in late May, Davis continues to hear plenty from wide receivers coach Chris Beatty, who is Wisconsin's lead recruiter in the state.
"Our relationship is really good," Davis told BadgerNation. "I've known him for a while now and he is a good guy. They tell me they like my film and like how aggressive I am and how instinctive I am."
The 5-9, 160-pound corner might not have the ideal size, but has that aggressive mentality is something Beatty likes about his game and why the Badgers continue to pursue him after already securing verbal commitments from two cornerbacks in 2015 (Dallas South Oak Cliff teammates X'zavien Ausborne and Takadrae Williams).
"My recruitment has been going good," said Davis, who holds at least 11 offers. "I have been hearing a lot from Boston College, Wisconsin and Indiana. I recently started communicating with Oklahoma. Right now I have a top two of Indiana and Wisconsin and I'm very interested in Wisconsin as of right now. I want to learn more about Wisconsin and that could get them right next to Indiana."
With a top two now in place, Davis is aiming at an early decision with one main factor he will look to take consideration for the Badgers.
"I think I'm going to decide in August," said Davis. "The main factor will be for Wisconsin is taking a trip down there and learning more about them. I love the football program, but I just need to know more about the school. I might visit in July or definitely down there to see a game."
