Dillon High School in Dillon, South Carolina is a hot bed school for ECU recruits. The Pirates have heavily recruited players out of Dillon and landed commits from the school in their last two classes. The most recent Dillon prospect to get attention from ECU is wide receiver Eri’reon Hayes.
With a deadly combination of size and speed, Hayes has turned heads on the field. He has proven to be a deep threat for the Wild Cats producing touchdowns left and right. As a result of his play Hayes is hearing from multiple schools and picked up an offer from ECU recently.
“I’ve been hearing from ECU and Old Dominion a lot,” said the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Hayes. “I have a lot of interest in N.C State, UNC Chapel Hill and Missouri.”
Hayes mentioned he visited ECU for its game against the Tar Heels, a game that was completely one-sided in favor of the Pirates. It was a successful visit to say the least and Hayes enjoyed himself.
“My visit was great,” said Hayes. “I loved the facilities, the atmosphere and how they get down in Greenville. They bring the fans and almost sell out every game. It was impressive to see them beat bigger programs like UNC and Virginia Tech. ECU really shocked me.”
Another key thing Hayes mentioned was how impressed he was with the offense. ECU’s air-raid attack, which amassed four passing touchdowns in the game, increased his interest in the Pirates.
Along with his offer from the Pirates Hayes holds offers from Appalachian State, Old Dominion, Georgia Southern and Coastal Carolina. As of right now he hasn’t seen enough of any school to make a commitment. To help address this problem Hayes will take visits to ODU and Coastal Carolina soon.
