Report: Breon Allen To Miss Bowl Game

BIRMINGHAM, ALA — According to a report, ECU running back Breon Allen has suffered a torn MCL and will miss Saturday's Birmingham Bowl against Florida.

East Carolina running back Breon Allen could miss Saturday’s Birmingham Bowl against the flagship school of his home state due to what he is believed to be a torn MCL knee ligament.

Allen, a senior Daytona Beach, Fla. native, has rushed for a team-best 869 yards and eight touchdowns this season.

According to a report by WNCT’s Brian Bailey, the injury was sustained during the Pirates’ second practice at Hoover High School in Birmingham Wednesday and several of the players referenced hearing a pop when Allen went to plant his foot on a play.

ECU, just three days after announcing the news that senior nose tackle Terry Williams and junior safety Domonique Lennon were ineligible to play against the Gators, has yet to confirm the report.
