ECU Hosts 2015 Commits

A bevy of 2015 football commits made it out to East Carolina this weekend for an official visit. Inside ECU Sports spoke with some of the commits about the experience and got pictures from their visit.

Signing Day 2015 draws closer and ECU’s coaching staff hosted some future prospects this weekend for their official visits. It was strictly a weekend for 2015 recruits that have verbally committed to the Pirates in hopes of solidifying their commitment and giving them a preview of their home for the next four years. The weekend was also a starting point for future teammates to get to know each other.

ECU’s 2015 class is a small class of just 13 commits. The class has one early enrollee, Lake Taylor (Va.) cornerback Nhyre Quinerly, but the other 12 members are still just connected to ECU by their verbal pledge.

Eight of the remaining 12 commits made it out for the weekend and shared about their experience.

"All the guys are really tight together. We are a small class, but we all can get the job done," said 2015 Shawnee (OK) quarterback commit John Jacobs.

Below are the commits who shared pictures of their experience.

South Central (N.C.) running back Shawn Furlow: The visit was good. Real recognizes real at ECU and I saw what the Pirate Nation was all about. I loved it. #undaunted

Ayden-Grifton (N.C.) defensive tackle commit Justin Brown: I loved the visit. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Ruffin (McNeill) and the team treated me like family. I love it at ECU.

North Myrtle Beach (S.C.) defensive back Colby Gore: The visit to ECU was great. From the football players, the staff, down to the students, everyone had lots of respect and showed me a lot of things I didn't know about the school. It was great. I'm looking forward to signing and playing football as an East Carolina Pirate.

Mundy’s Mill (Ga.) offensive tackle Darius Anderson: It was an awesome time. I enjoyed the relationship I established with the commits and I can't wait until I enroll at ECU.

Other commits who made it out to ECU this weekend include Lake Dallas (TX) offensive tackle Dalton Montgomery and Woodland (Ga.) wide receiver Justin Strozier. IES will be in contact with more commits and will continue updating this story with more reactions and pictures from the weekend.
