Three Pirates Invited to Scouting Combine
A trio of former East Carolina football players was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, which will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis later this month. Seniors Shane Carden, Justin Hardy and Cam Worthy were listed on the event’s roster that typically consists of about 335 players each year. Carden is one of the three throwing quarterbacks invited in order to help with other positions on drills, but will additionally participate in regular quarterback drills too. Hardy and Worthy are among the 44 receivers invited to this year’s combine, joining UConn’s Geremy Davis and UCF’s Breshad Perriman as the American Athletic Conference’s four pass-catching representatives. Worthy, shortly after his eight-catch, 130-yard performance against Florida in the Birmingham Bowl, suffered a foot injury, which forced him to miss the Medal of Honor Bowl. His status for the combine is still uncertain. The weeklong combine is set to begin on Feb. 17 and will broadcast live workouts — from Feb. 20-23 — on the NFL Network.
