Recruits React to Coaching Change

IES spoke to East Carolina recruits to get their reactions of head coach Ruffin McNeill being relieved of his duties

With ECU parting ways with head coach Ruffin McNeill, IES spoke to East Carolina recruits to get their reactions of the coaching change.

Jack Doyle- Class of 2016, Offensive Lineman

"Well I was really looking forward to playing for coach ruff because hes such a great man, but ECU is still a great program that I would be honored to play for. Coach McNeill left big shoes to fill but I am sure that  they will find the right man for the job."

Kendall Futrell- Class of 2016, Defensive Back

"It's disappointing because I really like coach ruff and we had a good relationship but I'm  ready to see who the new coach will be."

Rondre Knowles-Tener- Class of 2016, Defensive Lineman

"I remember when I came up there for the camp and he told me when ever I fall get back up, always push yourself and never give up. It's sad to me that this had to happen because he was so encouraging. He told me that the sky is the limit so that effected me in a way that it help me to believe in myself."

Nick McCloud- Class of 2016, Defensive Back

"I hate that for the program because I know how much he cares about his players and I know how much he loves ECU. It's just unfortunate."
