In the mid-80's, I was a US Army Military Policeman stationed in West Germany. There is an old saying, "An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure". That is the stance that the military used back in that time and still do today.

One evening while on guard duty at the main gate, two terrorists were putting a bomb together near our gate to blow myself and my partners up. Fortunately, the bomb went off prematurely and killed one of the terrorists and sent the other to the hospital and on to prison.

Before then, we were at a low state of security. We immediately went to a high state of security in where we searched every vehicle that came on to the post. But within days, politics took over and we were told to stop searching the vehicles. The reason was that a wife of one of the high ranking officers became offended that we would search her vehicle and cause her to be delayed.

So, instead of professionals deciding what should be done was replaced by what a military wife thought.

We need to say prayers for all the people involved.

As far as the terrorists are concerned. We need to find out who is involved, put a KH-11 satellite over the area and send in Delta Force to take care of them. Then show that tape to the world. Maybe that will stop other terrorists.

As far as the games this weekend, the NCAA will probably cancel all games on Wednesday.
