Although Ellis has already been to a couple home games, he plans to attend some of the Pirates' spring practices.
"I have not been on any other visits besides a couple games last year," Ellis said. "But I'm going to try to make it to some of the spring practices."
When he visits this spring, Ellis is looking to learn more about the coaches and to get a better look at the campus.
"I'm going to try and meet all the coaches and get to know them better," he said. "I also want to get a better view of the campus."
Ellis feels like the Pirates are going in the right direction and there are images he associates with Pirate football.
"I think of a team thats on the rise and building to get better," Ellis said "I also think of the no quarter flag."
Ellis has also talked to some of the current players on the football team.
"I talked to a couple players and they told me that their strength and conditioning program was excellent, so that's pretty intriguing," he said.
Ellis also took time to discuss expectations when he transitions from high school to college.
"I'm going to bring a competitive, hard working attitude and try to make myself better along with the rest of the team," he said.
