The 6-foot-3 205 pound, dual-threat quarterback prospect from Charlotte spoke very highly of the coaching staff in general and focused specifically on the relationship he's built with head coach Scottie Montgomery.
"Meeting coach Mo was the icing on the cake," Ifedi said. "It was very important that he showed me he cared about me as a person. He was always straight up with me throughout the whole process. He is a real down to earth guy. ECU has the potential to be great, especially with a great coach."
Apart from the football program itself, Ifedi noted how Greenville has the charm of a traditional big-time football school the campus is the perfect distance from home.
"It's close enough to home to have family support through tough times, but far enough so I become my own man," Ifedi said. "I also just love the feeling of college towns; the traditions and the experience is unmatched."
Ifedi, who was also recruited by Pittsburgh, Colorado State, Harvard and Yale, is planning on visiting ECU a couple more times and is very eager to explore the campus and begin competing for a starting spot.
"I'm looking forward to getting on campus and competing for the starting spot my freshman year," said Ifedi. "The job will be open, and it'll be up to me to work for it."
