Pro-style Ga. QB Mic Roof officially committed to East Carolina on May 20, and both Roof and Pirate Nation are excited about his decision to take his talents to Greenville

6-foot-2 177 pound Buford (Ga.) quarterback Mic Roof committed to East Carolina  back on May 20, and Pirate nation is excited to have an incoming pro-style quarterback.

Roof commented that it was the relationship he built with the coaching staff that really led the way for his decision.

"The selling point was the relationship with Coach Mo and his staff," said Roof. "It is important to have a good relationship with the coaches because of playtime, and they will help me grow as a man."

Apart from the football field, Roof is excited about the overall atmosphere of East Carolina, and is also interested the great business school here.

When Roof gets to campus, he is looking to demonstrate the same qualities that have got him to this level.

"I want to be a hard worker who competes," said Roof.

A hard working mentality is going to be key because as Roof pointed out, the level of play at the next level is different; everything is quicker, and adjusting to the fast paced game will be the biggest challenge.

"The hardest part about transitioning from high school to college is the speed of the game."
